Our Speakers:

Patti Spencer ’75 is the founder of Spencer Law Firm LLC, where she practices as a trust, estate and tax attorney. Before beginning the firm, she managed a regional bank’s personal trust department with over 1,500 accounts and $400 million in assets. Ms. Spencer taught courses on estate and gift taxation, trusts and estates, and estate planning at Boston University School of Law for eight years before bringing her expertise back to the central Pennsylvania area. She is the author of two books on estate matters, numerous articles on estate planning topics, and a frequent lecturer at continuing education programs for certified public accountants and lawyers. Patti received a JD and LLM in Taxation from Boston University School of Law and a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from Dickinson College.

Alexandra Sipe ’10 is a partner of Bybel Rutledge LLP where she is chair of the Wealth, Estate, Trust Planning and Administration Division. She focuses on estate planning for individuals, succession planning for family farms, and advising individual and corporate fiduciaries on trust and estate administration legal issues. She has served on a number of non-profit boards, including Luminest Housing, Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc., SpiriTrust Lutheran LIFE, Waynesobo Daycare Center, and the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library. Alex received a JD from Dickinson School of Law / Pennsylvania State University and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Dickinson College.

Peter ’76 & Miriam ’76 Kimball met at Dickinson during their second day of Freshman orientation. Though they were busy throughout their college years (she as a history major, co-captain of the field hockey team, and president of Alpha Delta Epsilon; he as a psychology major with minors in economics and education, a varsity soccer athlete, recreational tennis player, choral singer and Big Brother), they found time for their relationship to grow. They married in December 1977, raised two children and welcomed two grandchildren to their family. Both are retired now: Peter after a successful career as a teacher and higher education administrator, and Miriam after a brief stint in marketing before pivoting to a career in the nonprofit sector.
